Reviews
we order through the kiosk & we need a card. so they don't accept cash at all. you can also order thru their website. picking up drinks is pretty quick. there wasn't a wait on a Friday night.
This is Sunright Tea Studio outlet in Monterey Park. It is located opposite 99 Ranch Market on N Atlantic Blvd. You can order teas from the counter or from the two kiosks near the back entrance. Their selection of teas are wide and their formulation and toppings are usually tasty. I would recommend to have more customization on sweetness on the kiosk menu.
I wanted to try a new place.
Cash not accepted
Interesting design.
Zero indoor seating.
Picture and product are VASTLY different.
Drink was below average quality.
Price was above average for what I got.
Self-service ordering kiosk.
My kiosk had a very finicky credit card chip reader; it wouldn't read it no matter how many times I tried. I know it works because I still use my CC.
My drink had micro bits of what tasted like defrosted frozen fruit. The kiosk picture had a lot of boba-sized chunks of fruit. I was looking forward to the fruit for the price but was disappointed. My drink overall was below average.
Service was almost non-existent because you don't really interact with the employees. No one talked to me while I had trouble with the CC machine; everyone minded their own business but that's somewhat normal.
Took awhile to get our drinks but the drinks were pretty good. They dont have public bathrooms though and there was no indoor seating. There was a parking lot in the back where you can park for free and you order at a self service kiosk. For such expensive drinks ($6 a drink), the lack of seating, bathrooms are a bit dissapointing and the drink itself is a little bit lackluster for such a high price.
We came for their collaboration drinks with honkai star rail and they were pretty good. Honkai is, as always, stingy with the rewards given but the coasters and stickers were fun. Drinks were expensive though, with two drinks totalling at a little over $13.
I personally like this location more than the SG location. The store is brighter and much bigger, service was more efficient and faster! Speaking of the drinks, my favorite was “Taro milk with brown sugar boba” Loved that taro purée, it was thick and nutty, so creamy! Their cheese foam w/ white peach oolong tea was good too. What surprised me the most was their brûlée drinks, it’s not really typical boba drinks that you can find in Taiwan, but flavor-wise, it’s ON POINT. I recommend their brûlée oat latte oolong, omg so good!
I first tried Sunright Tea in Little Tokyo, and it was so delicious, so I obviously had to get it again when I was in the Monterey Park area. I really like that the ambiance of the store is bright and fun since it brightens up your mood. This time, I had the Creme brulee boba milk, but it tasted pretty similar to Half&Half. The drink itself tasted great, but I was expecting something a little more unique. I'll definitely be back to try some more drinks, but the Creme brulee boba is gonna be a pass for me.
This is a cool new tea shop with an interesting twist. The decor is modern- the asthetic stands out from the moment you enter. You're supposed to enter from the back to place your order on a kiosk; the kiosk was user-friendly. I ordered a taro boba tea with 25% sugar to my taste buds delight. The taro was creamy and my drink was far from sweet. More savory than anything. I will definitely be back. Give this new joint a try.
Updated review:
Big yikes. I know it’s just 30 mins after I posted my first review for this shop, but I found something weird in the drink. As I was enjoying my regular milk tea with boba, I felt like I sucked up something that’s not suppose to be in my drink?? I was so spooked and surprised by this weird texture in my mouth. I spit it out and it’s like a weird thin crispy thing. I have no idea what is this. Man, I guess this is my first bad experience right here.
5 stars for the drink and staff!
Great drink as always from Sunright. I have yet to have any bad experiences about their drinks.
-2 stars for the gross smell closer to the rear door to the rear parking lot. Hope this will get the attention from staffs and management.
Not sure what that smell was. Upon entering the rear door, both me and my partner noticed it almost immediately. I just thought it smelled bad but my partner said he’s having nausea from that smell. He had to get out to have some fresh air before returning to get my drink. Could it be the air curtain?? Or something close to the rear door? Not sure what was it, but I do recommend holding your breath a bit if you are going in from the rear door.
